Below you find all pertinent information related to the tournament and it will be updated as information becomes available.
Inspections
Friday - Teams are strong encouraged to complete inspections on Friday evening from 5-8 PM, especially rookie teams.
Saturday - Teams that don't complete inspections Friday night can be inspected between 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM.
Follow the signs when you pull into the school for inspection locations as they are in different locations on Saturday than they are on Friday.
Compass & Promote Award
These videos need to be uploaded into a google drive, dropbox or an equivalent file sharing site. A shareable link then needs to be sent to: b_spath@vwcs.net no later than 11:59 PM on December 10th, 2023. Make sure to properly grant access so the video can be downloaded by us. Before submitting please make sure they meet the requirements of the award.
Judging
Judging will take place on Saturday, December 16th from 8AM to 10AM. A link to sign-up for preferred judging times will be sent the beginning of December. Pit interviews will take place Saturday as well..
Engineering portfolios can be turned in digitally by 11:59 PM on December 12th. Share the document to b_spath@vwcs.net.
Food
Concessions will be provided on Saturday as well as a lunch ordering option for teams. The lunch order form can be found below. There are also plenty of local restaurants located within 1/2 mile of the venue.
Cancellation Policy
The FTC Tournament will be cancelled only if Van Wert County is under a Snow Emergency. Please refer to local news and radio for current county advisories. Under all other conditions the tournament will go on as planned.
Deans List
For the 2023-2024 Season, Deans list interviews will take place virtually on the same date for Ohio. Please keep an eye out in your email and on the Ohio FTC website for specific details. Any questions about Deans list should be directed to FTC Ohio.
Hotel Accommodations
Hotels are conveniently located 1.6 miles from Van Wert High School right off of US 30
For Holliday Inn Express: Call the hotel directly @ 419.238.2600. They are unable to hold rooms this year so call early.
For Comfort Inn: Call the hotel directly: (419) 232-6040. Use "Robotics" for the block code. They have set aside 10 King rooms and 10 2-Queen rooms.
After November 24th, hotel rooms will be released from the block and available to the general public.

Directions
If you are coming from the Holiday Inn or Comfort Inn you will take Washington St. South to Fox Rd. Turn right on Fox Rd. Follow that to Shannon St. (118) and Turn Left. You will see the school on the right. When you turn into the school, go to the left side towards the High School. Park in the back lot by the tennis courts. You will come in the athletic entrance to the school.
