Van Wert Robotics Teams 5501 and 14174 Start A New Season

This year's robotics season is called "Into The Deep" presented by RTX. Our two Van Wert teams, 5501 VW Robotics and 14174 Cougar Robotics, have started preparing for competitions.

In this year's game, teams must collect plastic samples and deliver them into baskets or taped-off net zones under the nets. Human players, selected by each team before the competition, can attach a clip to the samples to make them a specimen, allowing them to connect to low and high rungs on the field that correspond with their alliance colors. In the first 30 seconds, teams program their robot to be able to complete a task without them controlling it. Robots can score points in this period by putting the samples into the low or high basket, in the taped-off zones, or on the low or high rung. After this period, there is a two-minute tele-op period, which means the team can use controllers to control their robot to score points. In the last 30 seconds of the game, called the endgame period, robots can suspend on either low rungs or high rungs in the submersible. The robots only have the endgame period to hang their robot on either rung.
